Prof. Dr. Tina C. Ambos Academic Director

Prof. Dr. Tina C. Ambos is the Academic Director of the IO-MBA and Professor of International Management and the Director of the Institute of Management at the University of Geneva.

Before joining the University of Geneva in September 2015, she was a Full Professor at the University of Sussex, UK, where she also served as the Director of Research and Knowledge Exchange for the Business and Management Department. Earlier she held the Chair of the Department of International Management at Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU), Austria as well as positions at Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Vienna), the University of Edinburgh and London Business School. She studied in Austria, Australia and Canada and received a Venia Docendi (Habilitation), a Ph.D. and a Magister (Mag.rer.soc.oec) in business administration from WU Vienna and a Magister degree (Mag.phil) in Philosophy from the University of Vienna.

Tina’s research and teaching interests include knowledge management, innovation and strategic management. During her career she has worked with several multinational corporations as well as entrepreneurial technology firms on case studies, research and consulting projects. She is Associate Editor for Long Range Planning and serves on the Editorial Boards of several academic journals.

During the last years, Tina has taught MBA and executive development programmes on a variety of topics, such as International Management, Knowledge Management, Strategy Development, and Competitive Analysis in internationally accredited programs in a number of European countries. 2010-2013 she served as the Academic Director of the LIMAK Austrian Business School Global Executive MBA.

Philippe de Castro holds a Master’s degree in Economic and Social History from the University of Geneva, a degree in Curriculum Design and Development from the Catholic University of Uruguay and he is currently attending a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Executive Education at the University of Geneva.

Philippe has been working for several years at the International Bureau of Education of the UNESCO (IBE UNESCO) on curriculum development projects mostly in sub-Saharan African countries. He took part in numerous researches and publications on curricular innovations and organized ministerial conferences on education policy. Philippe joined the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in 2011 and has developed and coordinate numerous training programs for state officials from the South Caucasus and the African Great Lakes region. He has been in charge of a tailored version of the Executive Master in Development Policies and Practices for civil servants from the Afghan Ministry of Finance. He has also carried on several consultancy services for the UNESCO Office in Bamako and the IBE UNESCO.

Philippe has been appointed Program Manager for the IO-MBA as well as Program Development Coordinator for the Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM) – University of Geneva, in January 2016.

Rose Acheampong comes from Ghana, and has lived in Switzerland since 1977 when she came here to attend an international boarding school. She travelled a lot around Europe and met people from different countries and cultures. After completing a Diploma in Business, she worked in sales and on a voluntary basis for an NGO concerned with humanitarian issues in Africa, before working for a financial services company. She joined the IOMBA team in 2011. She is responsible for admissions and program coordination. She likes to read, organize events, and cook. She is involved in humanitarian activities in her spare time such as cooking in soup kitchens, and always willing to step in for whatever needs to be done.
