Executive and Part Time Training at IOMBA

Management Development Certificate

The Management Development Certificate (MDC) is a part-time course created to respond to the needs of professionals and practitioners working part or full time in International Organizations. The MDC allows participants to develop their technical, leadership and managerial skills in the context of international organizations, and extend their knowledge of the socio-economic and political context in which they work.

The MDC can be completed over one to two academic years, through a flexible and accessible schedule.

To complete the MDC, participants must attend six courses of their choice from the twenty-four offered in the IOMBA (see list of courses in the previous sections of this brochure).

The MDC is delivered in a modular structure, allowing participants to plan their classes in advance, around their work schedule.

Potential applicants are professionals currently working in an international organization, non-governmental organization, or multinational company who aspire to a managerial position, or existing managers who wish to enhance their skills with a view to taking on greater responsibility in their own organization.

The IOMBA Programme on a Part Time Basis

Part time students can choose to attend the IOMBA Program in two, three or four academic years, organizing their academic workload consistently with their interests and work schedule.

MDC graduates who want to continue their academic path towards the IOMBA may do so through the regular application process and attend on a part time basis. The six modules of the MDC will be counted toward the IOMBA and the fee proportionally deducted.

Executive MBA – Specialization in International Organizations

Professionals and managers who are interested in a more traditional Executive MBA Program but who do not wish to give up the opportunity to learn more about International Organizations and their environment can choose this option.

The Executive MBA, taught entirely in English, is a two to three year program conducted during weekends (lectures are normally held every other weekend on Friday evenings and Saturday). During the first year, participants undertake both the basic and quantitative subjects of the MBA Program in a 12-course curriculum, while in the second year they specialize in their field of interest.

Students interested in the international organizations environment may choose six courses from the curriculum in international management and six from the IOMBA curriculum.
